Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Greetings.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Malaysian Society of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Perfusion’s (MASCAP) website. The Malaysian Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Perfusion Society was formed in 2016 with the aim of promoting and encouraging the advancement of knowledge in the field of cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion.

Before this, the educational activities of cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion, such as the Biennial Cardiopulmonary Bypass conference, Transesophageal Echocardiography workshop, or Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation workshop, were organised by individual cardiac centre perfusion societies.

I believe that by forming MASCAP, more social and educational activities at the national and international levels can be done. As MASCAP represents Malaysia’s cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion fraternity, its members can become Malaysia’s representatives in any international cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion society.

I also believe that this website makes it possible for both the general public and MASCAP members to keep up with all of the activities the fraternity is involved in. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for medical professionals to join MASCAP.

It is my sincere hope that this website will mark the beginning of an era of sharing knowledge, information, and the development and progress of cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion in our country.
