INTRODUCTION
The idea of forming this organization was born during the Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Perfusion Services meeting on 6th November 2015 in Hotel Equatorial, Penang. Subsequently, the draft constitution of the organization was amended and the first meeting of the PROTEM committee members was held on 10th October 2016 in the seminar room general ICU Penang Hospital
Since then, the MASCAP has held four annual general meetings based on the constitution of the organization, the last of which was in 2019. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual general meeting scheduled to be held in 2020 until 2022, had to be postponed.
Objective
The Malaysian Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Perfusion Society (MASCAP), aims to promote and encourage the advancement of knowledge in the field of cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion at the national and international levels.
